Anaheim have fallen short in their first two meetings this season losing 3-1 in each of those games. The Ducks have a two point lead over the Kraken going into this game and currently hold the 3 spot in the Pacific division. Seattle half way through their six game homestand and coming off a victory against the Islanders they clash with a Ducks team that have won five strait.

Period 1

The Ducks get off to a quick start finding the net in the first minute of the game to take a one to nothing lead

Cutter Gauthier #61 (23) Assists: Jeffrey Viel #28 (1), Pavel Mintyukov #98 (8)

Through the first 10 minutes of the period there have only been 4 shots on goal total, three of which are Anaheim's. The Kraken have look a little sluggish to start spending a significant amount of those 10 minutes on their end of the ice.

Ducks commit a hooking penalty but potentially saved a clean shot on goal for the Kraken and will likely be viewed as a good trip to the Box

Alex Killorn (#17) 2 minutes for Hooking

Anaheim comes right back down the ice to put in a shorthanded goal at 15:24 putting them up two to zero

Ryan Poehling #25 (4) Assists: Ian Moore #74 (6), Olen Zellweger #51 (13)

The late push just wasn't quite enough to tie the game up after such a slow start for the Krake. This divisional game was a key loss as they try to stay in the playoff race being a 4 point swing. A win would've tied the point total with the Ducks but the loss has them sitting 4 points behind.

Coach Lane after the game said "That was the worst forty minutes of the season". You can watch the whole post game press conference on our YouTube channel @football-Talk
