SEATTLE — For a young goaltender, there are debuts—and then there are arrivals. On Saturday night, Nikke Kokko delivered the latter.

Thrust into the spotlight for his first NHL start, Kokko turned aside 26 of 27 shots, backstopping the Seattle Kraken to a commanding 4-1 victory over the Calgary Flames at Climate Pledge Arena. But beyond the stat line, it was the manner in which he handled the moment—calm, composed, and confident—that left the strongest impression.
